Mobile malware is often overlooked. The focus tends to be on securing laptops and desktops, rather than smartphones and tablets.
Mobile malware can arrive in various forms, from sneaky apps to deceptive links and as mentioned before, understanding these common traps is your first line of defence.
- Phishing Attacks – Clicking links or downloading attachments can lead to Malware infection.
- Malicious & Fake Apps – Always research apps before downloading, verify their authenticity and ensure you download from a trusted source.
- SMS scams – Be aware of unexpected text messages, especially those asking for sensitive information or those that include links.
- Public Wi-Fi – Avoid accessing sensitive information via Public WiFi, ideally connect with VPN enabled.
- Adware – Other than adware being annoying, this is less harmful but can expose you to other threats.
